None of us really expected that to be the single, but we were happy to put it out there. We showed that finished song to our management and our label, and they were all really excited about it. It was kind of a departure from our normal operations and I think that's why it ended up being one of our favorite songs. This one has a little more dynamics, more space to breathe. A lot of our songs previously had been really hard, fast rock songs and punk rock songs. We went to the studio and it was hard to get it to sound the way we wanted it to. From the moment he sent the demo I was like, 'This is my favorite song that we have going into the studio.' He came back with mostly what became the song and had written the melody and the chorus. He hit me up and asked me to send him the demo.
We kind of worked on it, made a demo and ended up hitting a wall a bit and it didn't really go anywhere. Tony had an idea for the bassline and a different idea for the verse guitars. I was with Tony, and we had a couple ideas. When did that song come about and when did you start thinking that it might pick up steam? The song "Might Be Right" has had an amazing run. It's been a fun ride it doesn't feel like overnight success. We're just gonna keep trucking away and hoping that people keep offering us gigs and that we still have jobs to do. It definitely didn't feel like zero - 60. It feels like there's always been milestones to be hit and a very natural progression of the band getting bigger. The band has been going on for 6-7 years at this point - more fleshed out in the last three years. The band started with Nick and Tony, the singer/guitar player, when they went to college in 2012 and were writing songs together. There's been years and years of work, for sure. Yeah, I definitely don't think it's been an overnight success. That's probably my favorite guitar that I have.īeing that White Reaper is a younger band, there's a perception that you guys were an overnight success.
